a secret message

Every kid loves to write secret messages.  Codes, secret languages, mirror imaged lettering…

This time, they’ll be “writing” a message that can only be read when it’s held up to a source of light.

“I Love Dallas”
Age 6
“Cannon”
Age 8
“To: Alan, From: Rae”
Age 6

INSTRUCTIONS

Write a secret message in big letters on a piece of cardstock using a pencil.  The bigger the lettering, the easier it will be to create the message.

Make sure the sewing machine is NOT THREADED, but that the needle is in place.  Trace each letter using the sewing machine.  It’s okay to pick up the paper and move it to cross a “t” or dot an “i”.

When you are finished, erase the pencil markings, and hold the paper up to a light to read the message.
